To get a message or image seem to be indented into some solid or other kind of suface simply choose the text tool and type whatever you want in photoshop. Once you are done open the layer window and hold ctrl and click the text layer. Go to the layer you want the text to be indented into and press delete. Now right click on the layer with the indention and go to effects. Remove the shadow effect and turn the bevel and emboss effect on. This should make the text look like it set into something.
Extras: Turn the bevel and emboss effect on in the layer with the text to make it look like gel set into indentions. You can also do this without the indentions to make plain gel text easy. I did this in photoshop 5.5.
